It might sound pretentious, but there is something I find deeply appealing about film photography. Unfortunately, in the world of print media, especially in smaller publications, the budgets often do not allow for the high cost of film photography. That was thankfully not the case for this issue. After negotiating with David Teran, we landed on a goal of shooting the cover on film, allowing the grainy aesthetic of the film to help sell the BBQ vibe we wanted. The result was a cover that still remains one of my favorites.
